I'll let you know what happens.

Problem fixed?

Who would have thought to use the drivers that actually came on the disk?... Anyway, that works. I've always just installed my new cards and got the latest drivers online. I've yet to try and install Afterburner. But at least I am not crashing now. Again, I'll let you know how that goes in a few hours. Thanks to everyone for your help! smile.gif And for your support, Ken!

I'm a little late to the party here, but just wanted to chime in that I'm running an MSI 7970 Lightening crossfired with a Sapphire reference card successfully with the Catalyst 12.4 OpenCL 1.2 (8.960.0 March 15) Driver. I just took out another Sapphire today (I was running 2 reference 7970s) and replaced it with the lightning to get the 4 DP outputs. I used Driver Sweeper followed by ATIMan, then installed the drivers listed above. So... it is possible (at least in my case). Good luck!

I'm running cf 7970's and I have the same issue (atikmpag.sys) crashes. It is a driver issue 4 sure. with curtain drivers (RC11) I get no BSOD but the "driver has stopped working, problem resolved" message. I did not tested the drivers on the disc since I'm waiting on my new BIOS chip for my mobo. Yesterday I flashed my bios to a new version and the BIOS told me that it was successful. Well it was not successful after rebooting the system.

Anyway how is it going with the disc driver? Also, are you running two monitors? Somehow I read allot about running two monitors could initiate the BSOD's.

Edit: before ppl are going to comment on (the overclock causing the problem) this is also with every component on stock clocks!

I have come back to confirm that I too am getting random BSOD with the 12.3 drivers (code 116). Upon further investigation with the blue screen dump, it looks to be caused by the AMD driver and directx.

I am running crossfire and eyefinity across three monitors. It happens almost regularly in BF3. I have reinstalled the entire system mulitple times just to rule out any other factors, I can confirm that it even does it on stock clocks, and without software like Afterburner being installed.

In my opinion, it's a bug in the driver. This doesn't happen in RC11.
