Help with SnapServer and ideas on what to use other servers for

Anyone have experience with SnapServer 410's? I got two of them from my work but neither has the face plate on them and I can see no way to turn them on without the face plate containing the power button. Both units are stacked with 4X500GB sata drives.

I also recieved a Dell 2900, Dell 1950 X 2, Dell 1750, and an IBM xSeries 366. Any ideas on what I can use all of these for?

Never used a snapserver before, but those Dells will be useless except for generating heat and noise. The 2900 might be ok, but the 2800/2850/2900 units are all loud and hot.

looks like the snapservers are designed as NAS

probably hot and loud just like the rest of em. smile.gif

I managed to get the Snapserver up and reset to factory defaults thereby removing the passwords. Deleted the old raid array which housed my companies ghost images for server 03 and 08, Rebuilt the array and have it all set for storage. The downside is my WHS box doesn't seem to recognize it and won't let me use it for backups.
The SnapServer is not bad on noise output, the Dell 2900 however is a true beast and I most likely will only use that for playing around on. 8X15K disks spinning up is deafening!
If anyone knows how to get the WHS 2011 box to use the NAS please let me know.

I don't know about NAS and WHS personally, however it seems like you could do an iSCSI arrangement with a WHS 2011 plug-in.

Edit...
Found another iSCSI solution, this one free
