[Blocked] Spyware/Adware Pop-Up

Thread Starter
I clicked into the "Intel Motherboard" section of the Forums.

Once I did that 10 seconds later the whole web page disappeared and then a small Pop-Up window popped up and said.

"Your drivers are out of date click ok below to Update drivers"

Of course I didnt click it, I had to go into Task Manager to close the Internet Explorer Pop-Up.

It's only happened once, Ive been cruising this section of the forums for weeks and it has never done this. It hasnt happened again yet.

FYI: Internet Explorer 9.0.5 (latest version)

Could you possibly give us the URL of the popup? Please copy and paste the link of the advert and PM it to Chipp for removal.
Been having the same kind of popup appear with Firefox.
It also will try to send you to the URL shown at the top of the popup box as if it's your homepage when you first reopen Firefox. Closing it again will let you go back to your set home page though. Also know I have Firefox setup to NOT check for updates so it shoudn't be doing this.

Here's a screenie of the popup message box with the URL as shown in Firefox.

I have had the same issue with Firefox and sent in a bug report yesterday. I could not find any intel on the site yesterday. Today, this appeared, so if you are not already, watch out for this bogie site:

I've also experienced this issue. I'm quite sure that it's from a rouge ad that is rotated on this site. The reason being that I had it happen on the home page so it's not from a rouge user posting something.

Also, in my case with the current Chrome Beta it's not just a single window, it's a full on redirect. *shudders* wink.gif

Looks like this is coming from China. frown.gif

If this pops again I'm going to have to blacklist OCN with Adblock+ again until this is fixed. sad-smiley-002.gif

Same here, just randomly pops up.
Have scanned my system with MBAM, ESET online and MSE and finding no external malware.
