I've got one myself... I know how hard they are to OC. Mine will do 1285mhz, but even at that clock, it performs about on par with my 7970 @ 1215mhz. When I crank up my 7970 to 1300mhz... it's untouchable except in a few Nvidia titles and 3dmark 11.

Your lying bro sorry. A stock 680 runs on par with a 1280oc'd lightning 7970 in the only game that really matters BF3. A 680 at 1300mhz would be murder.

Benchmarks are for nerds. I'll stick to what matters which is actual gameplay and right now BF3 is the most gpu demanding.

I'm glad they were now because I've waited and I'm getting a faster more effective card for bf3 with the 680's. As for the Op its pretty simple. 7970 sells will come to a stand still at this current price point. Their sudden availability is a result of no one buying them. Not that magically a bunch of stock came in. The proofs in the pudding. No one want's a 7970 now.

For anyone looking to purchase a 680. Go to EVGA website and go to products page and find the gtx680. Click on auto-notify and give them your info. They are releasing more stock almost daily.

And my car would chew and spit out that grocery getter Japbox of yours just as easily. That statement is as about as relevant as the one you just made.
