Call of Duty MW3 vs Battlefield 3

Currently I own and play and really enjoy COD MW3. I've gotten to level 80 on multiplayer, maxed out a bunch of guns, and the game is still really enjoyable. I likes it a lot.

But...

I hear Battlefield 3 is pretty amazing as well.

Anybody here own both and want to pass along how they've transitioned from game to game? Has anybody here really played both for solid amounts of time and would like to weigh in on which one they've found more enjoyable? Just curious. Probably going to go ahead and pick up battlefield 3 in the near future but it's always nice to know what to expect. Thanks guys.

TBH you're gonna hear alot of different answer since there is people that doesn't like either game or some does. I own BF3(PC) and MW3(PS3). I enjoy BF3 more since the graphic is amazing, destruction, and the map is alright... but I played a couple of B2K map and it's alot better than what the original map has to offer.

Bad thing I hate about BF3 is that the lights are still bright, the MAV killers (Haven't played since the update for pc) and the vehicle campers (The one that is always in a vehicle the entire game.)

MW3 is not really a bad game. Just too many campers for me for that much amount of players on each game and the game feels alot like MW2.

I prefer BF3 more since I am on my pc more than the PS3. Also during the free weekend for MW3, I experience so many hackers there that I just didn't want to play it on the PC, while BF3, I play on servers with admin that is active to stop the hackers and the servers that has no explosive in operation metro if a side actually push instead of just fighting in B.

Id say both of them arent nearly as good as their predecessors. MW3 moreso than BF3.

BF2 > CoD Classic > Modern Warfare 1 > BF3 > Black Ops > MW2 > MW3

imo

Thanks for googling that for me but I've already read what some of the major editorials have to say on this topic and am much more interested in what the opinion of the community here is. I searched the forums before posting and didn't find a thread that adequately addressed the topic.

Here is the only and correct answer:

It will come down to everyone's personal opinion. Bottom line is neither is better than the other by default. Only opinion makes one better than another and the only opinion that should matter is your own.

MW3 is an arcade shooter. You run, gun, get kill streaks. Very good if you love diving into the heat of action and owning people.

BF3 on the other hand is a tactical shooter. You try running and gunning like you do in COD, and you will probably die. Effective gameplay will require teamwork if you want to win objective-based matches (e.g. conquest, rush, etc.) or even team deathmatch. The addition of tanks, helicopters, fighter jets, and (mostly) destructible environments also sets it aside from traditional arcade shooters.

How often have you had a guy in a sniper tower camping and taking pot shots at you, and he's only vulnerable through a narrow window, making him hard to hit with such a precisely aimed shot? Heck in BF3, you blow up that tower and kill everyone in it!

Just to note, BF3 in its current form is not tactical at all. Especially post patch. Add in server side hit detection and you get skill bias, the way it should be. As it is now, having a full squad can help, but it's quite easy for any number of randoms to jump on and go all COD style run and gun and eviscerate the other team. thumb.gif

I personally love BF3 more than MW3. I have both and I haven't touched MW3 since I bought it. Dunno why but MW2 was better than MW3.

Whenever I would bring my PS3 to my friend's house he would always put in MW3 to play. He plays all FPS games but he complained that "BF3 is too slow paced for him." Maybe because BF3 requires you to run a bit while MW3 is set in a tiny area where everyone just shoots each other to death. Kind of like shoot, die, respawn, shoot, kill streak, die, repeat. I wonder if it's because seeing the yellow +100 feels more rewarding to him?

i can't speak for battlefield 3 because i don't own it, however i do own battlefield 2 and mw3

i like both but which one i play depends on how i feel like playing then.
mw3 is basically a run and gun free for all, even on teams.
battlefield is a little slower paced but involves more teamwork.

lately i've been playing more battlefield though.
nothing special
