Need fast advice - motherboard selection for i5 2500k

Need some advice fast need to order this board tonight/morning,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Z68-Extreme3-Motherboard-PCI-Express-ASRock/dp/B005FGQLQQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1333055267&sr=8-7
or
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-SABERTOOTH-P67-REV-3-0/dp/B004O9YB3A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333055955&sr=8-1

Or any other ones you can advise. Can go to about £150.

For an i5 2500k coming from a 960t hoping to get a better overclock than what I have atm with my 960t which is 4ghz, so a decent motherboard that will take me past 4ghz . Doesnt have to have sli/crossfire as I will be sticking one 7970/7950 on it but cf/sli is always a bonus.

Just spotted this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-MAXIMUS-GENE-Z-GEN3-Motherboard/dp/B006B7R8B0/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1333056434&sr=8-20
Looks so cool would it be silly to stick a micro atx motherboard in a cm690 case?

I usually tell my friends when the buy computer mobo is with the Asrock Extreme 3 Gen3. I have overclock on it for my friend with 1.28v for 4.5ghz. Stable prime95 for 8 hours and the temp on it was 64 celsius underload and 29 celsius idle with a Hyper 212 Evo.

That Asrock is a great board. But you cant go wrong with ASUS either. They're both quality mobos, and both have similar chance of getting a lemon. Although I like that Sabertooth a lot too.

Awsome ty Since amzon don't have the sabertooth in stock till next week I guess the asrock is a good choice tongue.gif
So what would you pick between these two asrocks
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Z68-Extreme3-Motherboard-PCI-Express-ASRock/dp/B005FGQLQQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1333055267&sr=8-7

£30 difference any difference in overclocking or better build quality?!

the extreme 4 has better south bridge and VRM cooling IMO makes it worth it.. other than a couple of extra ports and i think 3 PCIe slot but i think it would be at x4... smile.gif

Most 2500K owners seem to have an ASUS Z68 board.

And the P8Z68 /GEN3 lineup will do PCI-E 3.0 + Ivy Bridge.

I bought my brother the ASUS P8Z68-V Pro at microcenter with the 50 dollar off. I didn't get to overclock yet since he is so insecure about it frown.gif . I don't think there is a microcenter in the UK so yeah whatever is in your budget but don't cheap out like I did with my Biostar (good overclocker though). I regret it since I can't SLI since I was planning to CF Radeons but instead I went to Nvidia.

I don't really know what's the difference between 3 and 4 though. My guess is that on 4 you can tri-sli or tri-cf while 3 you can only sli or cf. Pretty much waht stubass said on top.

I have an Extreme 4 Gen3 with a 2500k, and would recommend it to anyone. They make a great combination. Like others have said here, though, can't go wrong with any of the 3 boards mentioned in this thread.
