Thoughts and opinions on the thermaltake SpinQ series

Hey guys I was looking at possibly getting http://thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1151&ID=1831 almost strictly because of the appearance, but was wondering how it stacked up performance wise against other competitive coolers around the same price range.

Theraltake are a funny company. Some of their products are market leaders (or close) and others a terrible. It does look cool yeah but not sure about the performance.

Try having a look at this comparison. Unfortunately I don't think the Thermaltake which you want is on it, but it is worth a look. CLICK ME.

That's a nice looking bit of kit, but a squirrel fan is going to be noisier than a conventional fan. Of course there's also the issue of the how you replace (or upgrade) the fan when it packs up.

What about a Titon Fenrir? frostytech's simulated load tests show good results:

http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=2383&page=4

Both the Fenrir and the SpinQ are on there.

Thanks guys for the input, it seems to be the age old question looks or performance? although I will say that NH D14 does have a little charm to it.
