GTX680 an 'imposter?' - Page 7

Lol sounds like you are hurt that there middle of the road card beats amds top card atm.
Imposter that keeps up with 7970 for less money, lower temp, at launch. Compared to 7970 three months of driver time.

Sounds like you can dog it all day what it 'should have been' but it's in the race and comparable for less money. I couldn't care if it was called 'pile of horse hockey 2.0' at the end of the day its right in line with top dog competition.

I guess since the card can't be attacked on its merits and performance, this lame debate is all Nvidia haters got. tongue.gif

Took AMD 12 months to beat the 580. Took Nvidia 3 months to leap frog. LMAO at this debate. Have at it gentlemen. All day if it makes you feel better. /unsubscribed

Give me a break; I have no brand loyalty. When people who have no clue about the inner workings of a company start speculating and call their speculation gospel truth, it's ridiculous. What makes a card the "most powerful" or "fastest"? Is it max overclock and computing performance OR is it stock clocks and getting 60+ fps in Battlefield?
I don't need to rationalize my purchase. I could chuck my 7970 into traffic and buy the 'AMD dominator' GK110 without even blinking.

Everything as in pac-man or tetris I assume... Or any ancient 2D game.. Or maybe a modern 3D game on very low settings, that's about as good as it will get for such an old card..

That doesn't matter to me even we all knew the true nature of GTX 680 is a mid-range. It is still way better card for gaming area. I buy whatever cards that fits my requirement to run 1440p maxed out.

You can't call me fan of something. Check my rigs. I own both side, both OS...  triple products.

nVidia is a bunch of greedy.... and they know they can set the price at anything and the average user who constantly see nvidia logos instantly thinks oh nvidia they must be better than anyone else, or the fanboys will buy it. Same with intel they can charge anything they want and people will buy it just because its intel.

Really? Because it's on par with 7970 performance. Why didn't you get the 4870 over the 7970 then? Could have saved yourself $150.

Really? Because Intel's CPU's put AMD's bottle necking faildozer I've done some homework on to shame.

One can also say the same about AMD fanboys. If it's got the red logo their sold regardless of issues. It's all relative.
