[Scratch Build] No name - A mini itx watercooled build - gtx 680 intel 3770K

Well I guess its time to start up this thread!

My plans are an all aluminum mini itx case about the size of the silverstone sg07 that has a 180mm rad in it.
I will be using an asus p8z77-i deluxe motherboard with an nvidia gtx 680 and intel i7 3770K

I'll add more to this some other time, right now I gotta cut more metal.

Here is the first bit of progress, the motherboard tray.

Ugly bare metal. Oxidized, but cheap biggrin.gif

First fan hole cut
450

...And the second one
450

First side bent

Second side. This was tough, I think I underestimated the strength of 1/16" aluminum.

And the final piece (for now at least)

The fans.

Radiator, fan shroud, MCP 350, and pump top. Also, some tubing that I won't use because its too big.

Oops... Don't worry, I fixed it...

I don't think I will have a chance to work on it this weekend, but I will try.
The next thing that needs to be done is to add a back panel, and cut up the motherboard tray quite a bit. I also want to add some plastic around the fans so they look cleaner, but I don't know where to buy really thin plastic. I have seen it before though, I think someone used it in the build log section for something, so I'll look there.

Looks really nice. Interesting idea splitting the airflow under the motherboard tray like that.

Do you have any CAD drawings for this? They'd be interesting to see thumb.gif

Ehh, sorry, I don't. I did have some poorly made ones before this all started, but once I began, I didn't need them so I deleted them. It was only the layout of the components though, no side panels or anything, so they wouldn't be much to look at anyways.

Edit: I lied, here is what I still have. I guess you can get the general idea. 120mm fans and hard drives not pictured, replace 7970 with 680, replace motherboard with P8Z77-I deluxe, replace PSU with Seasonic X-750, and that's basically it (everything lol).

Looks great dude. Im psyched for a fully watercooled itx build. And you should have amazing cooling.

I was able to keep and OCD gtx 570 and i5 760 in the 40s under load with a single black ice SR1 and scythe gt ap-11s in push/pull.

The achilles' heal of build was the mcp 350. Find a way to bed that thing down nice and proper. I struggled to find a good spot in an sg05, and the result was an incredibly noising whining sound that eventually forced me to part out the build
