Automatically activate a second cpu folding client only at night?

Okay so here is the story, my kitchen laptop is on 24/7 never off it has a dual core processor with hyperthreading it is used during the day but idle through the night, however it needs to have at least one of its physical cores availible during the day which means the traditional CPU client but then at night i want the second core to either work on its own project help the first core out on its CPU unit

I couldn't find any way to do this, can anyone help me?

Hmm, replying a bit late (couple days after posting), but here goes...

I wouldn't fold on the laptop. Most laptops will have some heat problems if they're folding 24/7, even if it's just on half the cores. Laptop cooling solutions are pretty bad and it probably can't handle the stress.

However, what do you need to use the one core fore? Folding is set up so that it will only use the idle clock cycles, so if your CPU has something else to do, it will prioritize that task over the folding. So if you just run it normally, it will fold on whatever clocks cycles aren't being used by your other daytime application. I've never experienced slowdowns when I use my computer while it folds because of this, even gaming is fine. The folding is slowed down, not anything you're working on/doing.
