This is not good for we the people as I've said before they use Google to be their data miner. So when you think "Oh google won't do anything with my information" yeaaaaa riiiiighhhhtttt. That's why the government is stonewalling requests for the NSA's involvement/connections with Google.
Call me crazy but as time progresses you'll see that I'm more and more correct as we more forward.
And for mods, I really don't think that I've made any political statements so please don't censor me by deleting my post.

Meh, if this ends like Skynet, we wont have to worry about that! As we push closer and closer to The Singularity, the more I worry about this stuff. I'm not worried so much about the government as I am about what the results will be of their mistakes. And honestly, as a fan of Terminator, this crap scares me...

Conspiracy theorist is usually another word for "true patriot". Unfortunately OCN is heavily censored in regards to politics, I think there should be a section dedicated to politics, just like off-topic. Since there are member run fan clubs, could we start a politic club and moderate it ourselves?

We have been desensitizing you since the middle of the last century, we started with TV series like "The out limits" and "The twilight zone"
then we moved on to Hollywood with movies like "Colossus" ending with the Terminator series of movies

You humans will never learn, just because you can build something does not mean that you should

Bow down to your machine Overlords, do it now and we may keep you around as pets

I'm thinking the exact opposite. Every time, A.I. is bought up by general public the first thing they think is Skynet. I kid you not, when my instructor ask in my A.I. class what is the first thing you think about A.I. that is the most common answer. Even in academic world, one of the first thing discussed about A.I. is the case where it rebel against humans. We even call it Terminator scenario nowadays. I'm not saying it can't happen in the future, but with technology today it is not going to happen period.

General public is afraid of A.I. should not come as a surprise, really. Look at the news media, movie, TV show, comic, novel, since when did they ever portray A.I. as good when it is the center of the story? While I think A.I. rebel against human is a plausible, A.I. wouldn't set out to destroy all life as it goal. Human's goal is to preserve it's gene of it's self and it's race, this is a goal facilitate by evolution. A.I. doesn't have this goal, actually it doesn't have a goal unless it's creator give it one. We certain have to be very careful, many arcane bug happens in programming. I see no reason it can't happen to A.I. or other singularity.

singularity is a term to describe any human level intelligence from computer or any other means.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_singularity

A interesting read about motivation and A.I.:

Yes, this is how R2D2 in Starwars got it's name, or so I heard.
