Does anyone know of any tiny "pliers" or tools that will manuveur inside tight computer case rig?? - Page 2

I have a tool made just for grabbing small screws and such from tight places (life saver as I have pretty large fingers). I believe radioshack sells a similar item, usually comes in yellow.

http://store.curiousinventor.com/surface-mount-soldering-smd-smt/tools/screw-grabber.html

Push a plunger down on the one end and three small prongs come out of the far end, release the tension and they retract like a claw, works perfectly for small screws and nuts.

I think the forceps even look better than those pliers. Because the forceps don't seem as harsh on the tips, where as I think if i gripped something with those pliers, the "teeth" may eat at the plug i.e. 3 pin fan plug and I don't want it scratched up.

Do you think the 12" forceps are long/good enough? I'm looking at those.

I need something long and thin. Does the bigger/longer inch forcep you buy, come thicker? if thats the case, I'll get a 5" or 8" then unless it doesn't matter or effect thickness I need something thin.

They don't get too much thicker as you go longer; certainly not as thick as a pair of pliers.

I think the longest I have are around 9" and I've never needed anything more. The best part is that they have enough flex that you can lock them on a fan plug to be able to turn it the way you need without damaging it.

Thanks. I ended up buying the 12" forceps.

Hopefully I can squeeze them into my case and grip things and un-latch them

I have a fan header that is hidden behind/under my Gigantic Noctua NH-D14:

..If I can't get access to it with the forceps, do you guys think I could just yank on the FAN header cable coming from the 120mm and pull -AWAY from the mobo to disconnect it???

Or do you think I risk damaging the 120mm fan and its cable? (I knew the cables can come loose from the plastic connector prong piece just like the 4pin molex ones do that to me all the time).....

UPDATE:

I need to update because I received my 12" forceps today from Amazon.com

and my case is a freaking CAVE; gigantic black hole impossible to put/fit my hands in there now due to the (2) SLI graphics cards and gigantic Noctua NH-D14...

..anyway I was able to pop the 3pin fan header for the exhaust fan off the motherboard and plug in my new fan onto it right behind my noctua, which if you look in my system pics, it's impossible to get into but I was able to get into it due to the forceps!!!

So once again, thanks to whoever recommended the forceps!!!
