See i don't get all the COD hate. I still enjoy MW2 on PS3 even after having my pc because I can casually pick it up and have a good time. Its enjoyable sometimes and fun for a casual experience and great for split screen. I wish they would do something new every now and then and stop milking it, but we can't complain because we are buying the games. If you want a hardcore PC experience then play some BF2 or BF3 when you are satisfied with the patches.

I think you just nailed it, not because you said you don't get all the CoD hate, but because you play it only on PS3. CoD nowadays is designed for the consoles and then ported to PC. If you play it on consoles, you're playing it on the platform for which it was designed, so naturally, you're going to have a better experience. For BF3, it's the opposite with PC being the first platform and consoles being secondary.

The CoD hate is justified, though. The game has become stale. BF3 is innovative, which is something that CoD hasn't been for years. Even with all its bugs and subsequent patches, I think BF3 is at least 4 times the game that MW3 is for multiplayer.

The netcode is client side so some noob with 300 ping is going to shoot you from around the corner 3 seconds later, regardless of your 50 ping to the server. It's one of the worst netcodes in a AAA fps game ever.
The spawn system has not improved at all. When I click "deploy" my soldier shows up ingame for everyone else to see and start shooting, two seconds before I can even see anything or move. Metro 64 from the US side when you have C & B flags has a new spawn point that spawns you in fire now. In TDM, it's still spawning me right in the middle of 5 hostiles.
There's plenty of overpowered weapons in BF3 too. Giving half the team 8 RPGs when it only takes two RPGs to kill a tank now is bad gameplay design. USAS spam is still just as bad as before. Sniper rifles are completely unaffected by suppression and one shot noobcannons.
Sorry they're ignoring your stats and other mundane missing features. At least core game play mechanics aren't messed up like in BF3. This new patch has made the game worse in BF3. When the same bugs have existed since the Alpha, I would call that lazy programming. They're too busy pumping out DLCs right now to care about fixing the real problems with the game and instead are making it more and more like CoD with every patch.
I love BF3's graphics and destruction, but it quickly gets forgotten once you're playing for awhile and are constantly running into bugs causing you to die. For example, here's all the bugs that happened during the last minute of my game last night:
-My chopper's sidewinders don't do any damage to jets, so i can't do anything about the jets constantly flying around me anymore even after firing two dozen+ sidewinders
-Flying 5 feet off the ground doesn't actually prevent enemies from locking on in many areas of the map due to poor map design
-Parachuting from the chopper caused me to take damage when landing.
-Tried clicking on a spawn point and it dissapeared, so the game randomly spawned me in the wrong location
All of this within the span of a minute. I don't even want to go over all the bugs from the entire round... BF3 is definitely not a real sequel to BF2 and neither does it deserve to be out of beta status. It's a half-reared game ruined by EA, which is no surprise either.

Im sorry I just flat out don't believe you for many of these points. I was copilot in my friends chopper and he was able to easily down enemy jets with his sidewinders, if there is a problem it is a bug and not something that happens all the time. Also two dozen sidewinders? You cannot fire 2 dozen sidewinders in a minute sorry

Your second point is the exact opposite happened to me, below radar is working correctly as I witnessed it first hand. I was pretty close to an enemy chopper and I was using a igla, he was flying so low I could not get a lock on him, despite him being pretty close proximity to me. I eventually died as soon as his gunner saw me, it was quite annoying that I couldn't lock onto him but I guess below radar works properly now. You just need to fly lower

The parachute point has merit

The spawn point issue has never happened to me

Also anyone complaining about dying as soon as they spawn in 64 player metro, automatically invalidates their complaint. Also I have never seen a tank getting destroyed from 2 rpgs unless its two hits in the back, so I do not know what you are talking about. The USAS is only a problem on metro and other cqc maps, any real battlefield map and its use is pretty much limited. Sniper rifles do not one shot unless its hardcore mode.

Also anyone who says each patch brings it closer to COD has no merit either as they are two different games.

Back to the Topic on hand

This Blackout will probably fail hard, I have not played MW3 so I am not aware of its problems but I still have memories of the boycott MW2 steam group.

Agreed I dont like all this "OMGZzz BF3 > COD" or "COD for nubzz" I think thats getting a little stale. Some people enjoy one game than to the next. COD is a watered down FPS, but still playable, and BF3 is when you gotta strategize a not so linear fps.

It's like telling the local dealer you and all your buddies are not gonna smoke crack for a whole day if they dont start giving you more grams for your money.

All that's gonna happen is that you're gonna smoke harder the next day or you'll just fail to stay off the crack for 24 hours in the first place, then come running back and paying up whatver they ask for the next time you want some crack.

It's actually scary how easily this situation translates tbh.
