You say "clunky" a lot. I don't like MW2 and 3 because it feels like you're running around like superman with a gun. You see the person first, you start strafing and unloading on them, and hopefully, you walk away with a kill. The mechanics are oversimplified to a point that "twitching" is the only way to be a good player.
BF3's mechanics are much deeper than this.
Example: You spot an enemy and begin running towards them, getting ready to fire. The problem is that they shoot first, so you run for cover and position to counter them. During that time, a tank has appeared, but luck is on your side and the tank hasn't spotted you. You notice that you're a support class, so you run up to the tank and start strapping C4 on it. During this time, your health is recovering. As soon as you put the 4th C4 charge on the tank, the same guy you saw first has spotted you. This time, you use the enemy tank as cover and take the person down. The tank notices you and starts to move away in preparation for firing a shell at your position. However, you're quicker than they are and get out your detonator before the tank can get a shot off on you. You just pulled off around 450 points worth of experience because of that skirmish, and you get to walk away from it.
Everything that I just described happened in a matter of 20-25 seconds.
That's the Battlefield difference.Edited by Mad Pistol - 4/11/12 at 10:16pm
