I haven't made any comments on what memory has more value, I'm just saying that you shouldn't plan on achieving very high memory clocks on Bloomfield with 24GiB, no matter how good the memory or board are. Even if such speeds were achievable, the chances of you noticing the difference are fairly small.

I do think the two kits you have listed are both overpriced. Corsair is nothing special and is not worth a premium.

Then to be honest, thanks for nothing. Its sad for someone to hold as much "flames" as you, and cant recommend anything else. All your really doing is bashing bloomfield & corsair. As i stated before I'm aware I may not achieve an OC at all. That's not the point of the thread. Its to decide the best set of memory @ 24gigs for $200. And in the event it I don't even get rated speeds, its about the resale value. Your input was neither helpful or insightful. How are they overpriced if you cant recommend anything else? The very least you can do is prove your point and share your "vast memory knowledge" by copy & paste something else or at the very least recommend the Samsung memory someone else posted.

Which model do you have? I'm aware a lot of the1600 sets of Vengeance don't OC well at all. The model i listed is specifically rated @ 1.35 volts which is why you can get the timings down to cl7 @ 1600mhrz @ 1.6volts. In the same reviews that 1600mhrz set wasn't able to step up to 1866mhrz so i wasn't expecting a mhrz jump from either. Its really the timing I will be trying to bring down if anything.

Mine was rated 1.5v, but it ran 1.35 perfectly stable @1666Mhz. Which leads me to the belief it's the same chip as the 1.35v rated smile.gif I can't be sure though.

I recommend you go to your favorite e-tailer, look up 4GiB unbuffered DDR3 DIMMs (in any combination that adds up the amount of memory you are looking for) and buy the absolute least expensive stuff you can find. Chances are you'll never notice the difference with anything faster.

If that's too vague, all you have to do is look at my sig system to see that I'm using the low voltage Samsung that people are lauding. I mostly chose them because they were 20 dollars a stick; the fact they OC well is just a plus.

I never bashed Bloomfield, I pointed out it's limitations.

I own many Bloomfield CPUs and think they are still pretty competitive values.

Cheap memory holds resale value longer, because years from now people won't be trying to make an old system the fastest thing around (an exercise in futility) they will just be trying to get them to work.

I just thought my answers were more relevant than your questions. Everyone else already gave you several viable recommendations (and believe me, if I thought they were significantly in error, I would have said something), but there were points that I thought were relevant to bring up, and not just for your sake.

Memory came in today & so far so good. The default XMP memory setting @1866hrz does cause a boot loop. But under manual settings I literally watched my windows score raise from 7.5 @ 1066mhrz -> 7.8 @1600mhrz -> 7.9 @1866mhrz. I haven't ran any memory diag test yet. Right now Im just glad to have my main computer back.
