can you be more specific? Is the drive new and just not showing up under computer? Is it plugged into the Intel port?
Is the hard drive empty or does it have data on? Is it your only hard drive? Is your OS installed on it or on another drive? Is the hard drive detected on the post screen? What OS are you using?

Some more information would help us better diagnose your problem. Also filling out your rig specs for us to see in your sig would be good as well. This is done at the bottom of your profile page under "My rigs" then to the right "creat a new rig.

- It could be plugged into the Marvel controller which may be disabled.
- Try a different sata cable
- Make sure all connections are snug
- Is it a known good drive?

I don't use mechanical hard drives. The SSD is detected in BIOS as the primary boot other than the optical drive. I use Windows 7 64 bit. The SSD is new. I don't know what Intel Port is. I installed it via Sata 6 cable.

I am using the computer that is not detecting the hard drive to type this now.

SSD is a Crucial M4. It loads Windows 7 64 bit under 7 secs or even less. The wires are in, otherwise I wouldn't be able to type this.

I take it you have more than one SSD then and your OS is installed on another.

If you go to the windows start orb, type disc and then select "create and format hard disc partiotions". In there you should be able to see the hard drive that can't be detected somewhere at the bottom. Right click on it and select "mark as active". You could also try to affix a drive letter.

If you don't have data on the drive in question then you could carry out a quick format which should solve your problem.

I have one SSD. I noticed that in BIOS that the hotplug is disabled for the M4 SSD. I have no problems. Everything runs fine and fast, wondering why mobo indicates "no hard drive detected."

Hot plug seems to just mean the ability to swap components without turning off the computer.

If you only have one hard drive, and your computer is not detecting the hard drive, then how are you using your computer to type these messages? Again this is where the needing more information comes in.
