Consoles use whats called "Direct to metal programming"
Something that current computers are not able to do because of the many different configurations of computer hardware. They will take a AMD 6670 and make it smash performance of PC running a GTX580 performance wise.
How? direct to metal programming.
What makes my GTX580 suck so much then? - Microsoft Direct X is what.
you: No freaking way this is not possible.
me: just wait- your not going to like it though.
also take into consideration the much lower resolutions they are working with and FPS will be off the chart with insane visual awesomeness.

Well why Not Take a GTX580 and bet to the Levels of GTX1080? That would be so much better. I dont Want Consoles to pay Catch up. I dont think they should focus Consoles to the Mainstream Gamer because they will just lose to Smart-phones.

Most PC games nowadays are just console ports anyway.
Like an Xbox 720 with a mouse and keyboard and JUST plays games with mind blowing graphics seems really nice.
Maybe its only me.

Yeah. Its only you. Play bf3 on console. Then play it on pc (even on the lowest settings). You will see the difference.

I'll just put it simple. All the PC gamers will stay as PC gamers, and the console players will come little by little to PC.

It's certainly possible, hardware on PCs can already do 1080p at 120hz, I don't see why consoles couldn't. They'll have hardware that's around what is out today (possibly a bit slower), but will be much more optimized than a PC.

Implying that console gamers will all move to PC is a bit naive, considering it's been going in the opposite of that direction for years now.

understood, but hz is the refresh rate. if a screen does 60hz, the max it would show on the screen is 60fps.
if the screen does 120hz, then the max the fps would show on the screen is 120fps.

I understand hz is not fps, but they do directly correlate to each other.

Never said all of them would migrate to pc, but according to the bf3 forums, that has been whats going on.
Heres the thing. My rig $800 w/o monitor cannot run bf3 at ultra at 1080p at 60fps. What makes you think that a console will run any game 1080p at 60fps?

You mean like the way quite a lot of TVs are 60/120Hz and pretty much all console games are 30fps?

exactly. you can run a game at 30fps on a 120hz screen.
you can run a 120fps game on a 60hz screen but only 1/2 of the frames would be shown skipping in between each other.

Saying you want a console to run a refresh rate of 120hz is implying you want the console to be ran at 120fps.
