That's a very good point.

I am probably in the minority of people who play video games (only on PC--I don't own any consoles), but I never buy used games. Only because I probably don't play as much as others. But in comparing used game prices at somewhere like gamestop to game prices on a service like steam after the initial over-priced debut, they seem pretty similar. Meaning I can't see the user being affected THAT much by not having access to used games. The effect on something like GameStop? Sure, it'll be serious since they get a lot of money by selling used games at an overpriced rate.

Do a lot of people here on OCN buy a lot of used games frequently?

i agree with gamestop!no money no go in!why would a retailer push any product if it doesnt gain by doing it!microsoft tried it in the past months since window phone release and go check out !so far retailer arent pushing the ms techno ,even if the limited few that could get their hands on them(microsoft real life store)say wp is way better then the dual core variety of smartphone !other smartphone start to catch up when they are in quad core ,before that?not even close!and i suspect if ms tweaked their smartphone to get rid of bufferbloat everywhere around wp they would still be ahead of all smartphone by a long shot!can you imagine, think about it!
ms can do this very easy! in fact i suspect within a month max they could boot bufferbloat around all window phone product!try that for size apple and android!
might need to force company like att, verizon, sprint, t-mobile to do it!but since we talk about the health and futur of the mobile web here i am pretty sure fcc would side with the better good of the mobile web here!
so i am sorry but i hope gamespot go all the way!cuase they wouldnt make money by pushing ps4!product if sony keep their silly idea!

Best Buy won't be around much longer either...

Though you could always buy your stuff from online, but you can just forget about resale value. mad.gif

Sony I gotta say thanks, I think in the end you will suffer, PC Techs like us here on OCN will gladly receive new clients with arms wide open showing them just how hot gaming on a PC truly is... (& always will be)

Oh and btw, Gamestop you should do this...

Trying to win by biting the hands that feeds you, well...

That's never a good idea, ever...

I buy used games for my kids, they sell them at flea markets, Swap N Shops, and garage sales, so they aren't just hurting Gamestop, they would be hurting all those people scrapping to make a living too...

How sad...

I think the only next gen console that won't completely enrage me will be Wii U. Then again.....
Still, I don't think Nintendo will go this route.

Yeh because gamestop is the only place u can get a console...

I would love to see this happen as gamestop has caused me a lot of annoyance and frustration over the years. I never buy anything from EB Games/Gamestop and none of you should either. Stick with steam or newegg/amazon imo. We just need to figure a way to make game companies make good games now...
Don't know why all the PC users are making a big deal out of this anyway... hardly any PC games are resalable, because they lock the activation code to an account now. We're moving the direction of non-transferable games whether you like it or not!

LOL i dont even care if gamestop does not sell used games or next gen consoles. I got my 360 at launch at walmart. Its not like gamestop is the only place that will have them. Id rather buy on newegg anyways. NO tax + Free shipping FTW
