Having Trouble with ATI Drivers for the 5870m

Hello everyone,
I recently tried to launch BF3, however BF3 would just say "Joining Server" and nothing would happen. When I opened the Event Viewer I found this error:

It looked like I needed to update my ATI Graphics driver so I did. However when I update it to the latest version my screen resolution goes down to 1400 x 1050 when it should be 1920 x 1080. I also checked dxdiag and when before it would show my GPU and driver version, now it shows nothing? BF3 still isn't launching, but now it comes up with an error "Failed to initialize display adapter." I've re-installed the ATI Driver and it continues to do the same thing. I'm at a loss of what to do next and would really appreciate any ideas or solutions. Thanks

I attached a screen shot of dxdiag and the BF3 error I'm getting.

My Laptop Specs:

Asus G73jh-A1
CPU: Intel Core i7 Q720 @ 1.60 GHz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: ATI Mobility 5870
Screen Resolution: 1080p
OS: Windows 7 Home 64 bit

Are you using 12.4? My advice is go back to the last stable release which is 12.1.

Ok, so I reverted to an older Ati driver version. All I had to do was make sure that the one on my laptop was completely removed before installing an updated driver that would be able to run BF3.

Thanks
