Can No Longer Log Into Windows (Domain Problem)

Thread Starter
So was messing around with the network adaptor, last night. Restarted my computer and i can no longer log in when i enter my password

Gives me this message when i try: The specified domain either does not eist or could not be contacted.

The domain message seems to indicate Windows has somehow been configured for a domain login, which means it's looking for a domain server which i dont have and cant log into my local account.

I used a tool to remove the password. Didnt do anything and still asks for one.

Normally i would just do a reformat but i dont have any thing backed up and cant.

Anyway to fix this without reinstalling windows?

When you get to the log on screen type in your PC's name slash username and that should bypass the domain log on.
Example: mypc\username

No, you should definitely be able to log on to your PC using the method posted above for example, mine would be: 'FEDORAZ-WS-L\Zach", but since I'm on a domain, my currently login is "CORP\zfedora"

You can try logging in to your local computer by typing

.\username

This way you don't have to remember your PC name. Here's where I got it from if it helps any. Good luck.

You do not need to know your computer name if you use the method I posted.
If you go to local disk > users then you can find out your username if you forgot it. Hook the drive back up to your computer then try logging in like this.

.\username

Example: .\oneironaut

Once you type the period and slash it should say that it is logging in locally to whatever your PC name is.
