You clearly have not met some of the people I know, they genuinely believe that Apple invented tablets.
"They did bro!!! Think about it, no one had tablets until our classmates/etc. started getting iPads! It's obviously because they were the first tablets!"
Wish I can SMACK those idiots.

Also, when I got my first tablet, I felt a little bit like I was on Star Trek.
Someone really needs to make voice operated cell phones that stick to your shirt now.
There was a 2 hour special on Discovery a couple years ago titled "How William Shatner Changed the World", that focused on the inventions attributed to the original Star Trek series. A lot of technology present in the world today can be traced directly back to that series in the 60's. There are even appearances by the inventor of the cell phone (yep he got the idea from star trek) and the Palm One inventor (again, taken from star trek). Watch it for a good laugh and peek at roots of current technology.
BTW: We have voice operated cell phones and if you have a bluetooth earpiece, it can be pinned to your shirt. I use the voice features on my phone all the time for dialing and such. 99% accurate for me.
Voice operation is ancient and Siri is highly overrated. My brother with a 4S agrees that it is trash.

Woz says voice commands work better on Android.
Then there’s Siri, Apple’s new voice-recognition software. Woz says he’s been using Siri for a long time and used to love it when it was an independent application created for the iPhone.
But ever since Apple bought Siri and built the software into the iPhone 4S, it doesn’t work as well as it used to.
The Android system also delivers better results, he says. “I have a lower success rate with Siri than I do with the voice built into the Android, and that bothers me,” Woz says. “I’ll be saying, over and over again in my car, ‘Call the Lark Creek Steak House,’ and I can’t get it done. Then I pick up my Android, say the same thing, and it’s done. Plus I get navigation. Android is way ahead on that.”
"My primary phone is the iPhone. I love the beauty of it. But I wish it did all the things my Android does, I really do."
