X1900XT 256mb or 512mb - Page 2

Ive seen Oblivion take up more than 256MB of VRAM on my X1900XT 512MB. I dont know how it would affect the 256MB version though.

That card has enough power to ues 512mb but it dpends on which games you play. Games like Oblivion which have heaps of polygons and shaders need the extra memory. FPSs (exclude COD2) don't realy..

Well im upgrading later this year and i dont use higher than 1280*1024 as its pretty pointless as ill just put on the AA and AF to give it some eyecandy.
Also a 3700 Wouldnt be an upgrade to my CPU IMO as ive used them alot and frankly found them to be slower than my P4.

Well it sounds like ill get the 256mb as the 512mb isnt worth the extra 100 pounds..No way..Hopefully ill be getting the Sapphire version.
