[Vortez] BitFenix Shinobi XL Review - Page 2

Finally BitFenix adds 90 degree HDD Cages to the Shinobi! I would have purchased the Shinobi a week ago for my new rig, but the non-90 degree cages was a deal breaker for me :-/ I had to go with Fractal Design.

How 'thin' is thin, though? I'm more a fan of thick rads with low-FPI so I can run slow fans on them. I'm not bothered about losing two 5.25" bays, either, so if an RX360 (or similar) would fit in the front and a second in the top... this would be my next case... and yes, I believe in overkill cooling... wink.gif

It's a great case, it just has a few minor draw backs. The front can only fit thin 360 rads such as the RS /EX thickness in Push because the bottom of the 5.25 bay has a "rad grommet" as I will call it.
Grab a dremel and cut that thing out and wham, 60mm Rad with push / pull will work.

As far as the top you can do a 360, Maybe a thick rad in only push (depends on MB)

This case should of been a tad taller to fit the thicker style rads in Push / pull, and the front bezel will limit airflow for a rad in the front. It seems like Bitfenix just reused a Colossus chassis.
Besides these downsides, It really is a great case with many options and a great price.

But people will compare it to the Switch 810, but IMO they are both top notch cases and both companies are moving in the right direction!
Huge bonus for everyone thumb.gif

The case is more of an industrial / classic look. Everyone has their own style.

"Best looking" is very subjective... I think some BMW's and Porche cars are ugly compared to Scion's line up. On the other hand, some models are better looking.
P.S I had a choice between the the Mitsubishi Lancer and the Scion XB. The Lancer was not my taste. "Ugly" rolleyes.gifbiggrin.gif
