Starcraft II and League of Legends @ GTX 560 : still loosy FPS, please help ! - Page 2

i'll add to the possible CPU problems. SCII i know for sure is more CPU intensive than other modern games. is there another game you could try that is more graphics based i.e. a non-strategy game?

btw my power supply is 500W max.

tiger, i'm afraid i can't now.

I have only SCII and LoL installed, (others games doesn't count, ie civ IV, ceasar III and other oldies)
Last year, with the 8800 GTS 320Mb, Wow was fine (uninstalled) but in hard conditions (raid 25 lich king, the dragon before him, i sometimes was at 2 FPS)

don't think you can do much with that processor, just gonna have to save up money for an upgrade. your gpu seems fine but your processor is pretty outdated by now. I also see that you have an am2 socket, you could probably look for a phenom ii and your troubles may go away

For the information, i have overclocked my CPU to 2812 Mhz.

Gone from 641 to 781 in passmark.
Gone 16xx to 19xx in 3dmark11.

In LoL, i have gained about 5 (?) FPS. It is more playable in teamfight. (tried 2 games though)
In SCII, i can't say really. Still not enough for me to play.

Thanks anyway.

i would advise you to get a X3 455 CPU at least, i have that CPU and i can play very well SC2, my previous CPU was X2 265 and i could run it well but with FPS dropped here and there but with the X3 455 that doesnt happen anymore. so probably u should update your CPU.

hey man, hope you'll be able to find a new cpu soon. SC2 is a really fun game, even when I had to play on all low on my laptop. good luck

Hey guys,

for the record, i have updated the BIOS to revision 5001 (after 1st reboot window 7 installed 2 new periphericals) in order that my mobo can accept the incoming quad core phenom II i have just bought.

I have put again settings for overclocking my Athlon (2500 -> 2812 Mhz), tried the games (League of Legends and Starcraft II) to see, and.... *** guys !?

Just tested 2 pvp games in LoL, and a few campain missions in SCII :

- gone from 25-35 average to 35-50 average in LoL (same presets as before);
- gone from 10-25 average to 20-75(!) average in SCII (same presets)

Never thought that a BIOS flash could improve that much FPS in games...
Honestly I still don't get it.

I almost do not need anymore the phenom II...

sc2 single player is not as demanding as multiplayer, when you are maxed out army you will lose most battles because you wont be abel to move your army
