Question about ek 2.2 pump?

Ok this will probably be a stupid question for those that know but we all have to start somewhere right?!

Anyway the pump comes with a 3pin plug, and also a separate adapter which has a female 3 pin connection a 4 pin female molex connection a 4 pin male connection and two 3 pin plugs, one of which has just a yellow wire, and the other 3 pin plug has a red and black.

Can I ask what it is used for?

When I leak tested I obviously used the molex to run the pump.

Is the 3 pin from the pump normally used to power the pump in normal use? And what are the two 3 pin plugs on the adapter used for, one of them reads the rpm (3 pin with yellow wire), but when I connect the other one the pc won't even post.

And what is the male molex connection for on the adapter?

Sorry for all the questions, but if someone could break it down for me please.

its used so you can power the pump using molex and still control the speed using the mobo
