Accelero Twin Turbo II Installed on GTX 680 **Warning 56k** - Page 2

Nice thanks for the pictures. I have the Turbo 2 sitting here in front of me for my 680. But I was not sure which stand offs to use since the manual did not say. I sent them an email but have not heard anything. So bottom line is, this will not work with the standoffs provide correct? If so great now what to do....

Great job and build log. Rep+thumb.gif

I always get a chuckle at the comments from those who are not at all familiar with aftermarket vga coolers. They usually post comments like how massive the cooler is, or how it looks funny, or how it just dumps heat in the case.
I've probably been fitting AC coolers on vga cards longer than some of these guys have been alive, and the results speak for themselves.

I was concerned that the 680 would need one of the upcoming Accelero Xtreme III coolers, but the Accelero T.T. II looks to be quite effective.
They state on the AC site that there would be a fitting issue with 680's that have the double-deck power socket:
www.arctic.ac/en/p/detail/index/sArticle/554/sCategory/2182
(click on the "Compatibility" tab and scroll down)
thus the T.T. II for the 680.

Edit: @falcon26:
I had to use different spacers on my current Acceleros as well, as I removed the IHS from the 480's, and had a few thinner spacers on hand from a previous cooler.
You could possibly file down the spacers that are too thick, if there is an issue with yours. AC is very good with customer support, so they should provide a solution for this issue soon enough.
I hope they will answer your support request soon.

I have to admit though. The stock cooler is not bad at all really. Idle its about 40 degrees and load about 75 after playing BF3 for about 2 hours. And noise wise idle its dead silent and load the fan gets to about 50% and even then is very quiet...

The stock cooler is really good to be honest and is quiet at 60% fan speed. On stock cooler I would get 28c idle and 67c on load.

I sent an email to arctic cooling about the spacers not fitting and so on.

Waiting for their reply.

Yes, unfortunately, such coolers as the Acceleros take up a lot of space. That's the nature of the beasts:p
Looking at your specs., your XSPC RX 360 system could cool your 470 far beyond what any aftermarket air cooler can, with a nice, slim waterblock installed.
I would think it's chilling the 2500K quite well.

Any chance you could take a picture with the card lying flat and revealing the side with the PCIE interface and one from the power-connection end of the card, also flat (Heatsink side up)? I'm trying to determine whether I could install a Twin Turbo II while leaving on the GTX 560 Ti reference support "frame" which would enable me to install a backplate while using the cooler (which would result in uber PCB support)

Aha, an EK waterblock on the 470. Nice:thumb:

But, for those of us still using air cooling, the Accelero will have to do.
For now:D
