2600k 4.5GHz @ 1.328V ~ Kinda newbie

Pretty much what the title says. I have been running some tests and found that after a few hours 4.5 GHz is where I will settle.

Prime 95 for an hour or so revealed no crashes (will do further testing tomorrow, don't feel comfortable leaving PC without monitoring temps for 12 hours), Hyper Pi passed easily. And I can play all of the games on my PC without issues.

But my question is: Is 1.328V (What CPUz reports) too much for this CPU? I mean I know it's well within 1.4 but I just want to know if I would be safe with it, and still have it last for a decent amount of time.

Temps are around 67 degrees, haven't seen any 70's yet only with Intel Burn Test running.

Instinct tells me that it's a fine voltage. Earlier on today I tried 4.7 GHz using 1.4, that was stable but 1.4 was a little too high.

I decided to drop it down to 1.375 and it BSOD on me in probably 1 minute, I don't really feel comfortable going over that limit.

So:

Is 1.328V too much? (For 4.5) For often use (6 hours a day ish)

And do you have any tips for 4.7 GHz? As I feel constant BSOD isn't exactly a good thing.

BTW:

PLL OVERVOLTAGE is set to OFF since during a cold boot my PC would start, turn off for 3 seconds and kick right back and POST and boot normally) So I decided to leave it off, I don't think It's needed for 4.7GHz regardless.

Looking forward to hearing any input on the above 2 questions.

Voltage is fine. Temps are alright. If it's stable then I say you are successful thumb.gif

Yeah just ran another Large FFT for a good few hours and everything seems stable.

I actually forgot that my H80 was on fan speed 1 out of 3. Bumped it up to 3 and now temps don't even hit 60 degrees.

Seem's very stable right now.

Thanks for the help!
