Suggestion wanted for fanless CPU cooler under 70mm height

Thread Starter
Original thread (not sure whether it is wrong to post at air cooling forum, so i post here as well...)
http://www.overclock.net/t/1236759/looking-for-a-fanless-passive-cooling-heatsink-that-can-fit-into-lian-li-pc-q07-case

Two question here,

1. The best passive cooler under 70mm height,

2. what kind of CPU can i expected to use in such condition (completely fanless system, 30C ambient temp)

Any help is appreciated eh-smiley.gif

AXP140

70.2mm height.

you might be able to run a 2500 at stock speed since it has a high temp tolerance. but it all depends on what you are trying to do. if it's just surfing the net or something you'd be fine, but if you want to crank the sucker up, you'd need some kind of airflow.

Out of topic question, does anyone here (i mean, who build silent system) use Intel's board(not intel chipset, but intel branded board)?
I would like to know, if the BIOS of Intel's support limitation of active core(make a quad only with maximum 1 or 2 core active) or lower the maximum multiplier(say limit at 2Ghz while it is rated at 3Ghz)?
If it does support the above function, i may get a quad, and lower the clock/disable core later if the temp is out of control, otherwise, i may just get a 35W i3(with "T") and settle down mellowsmiley.gif

Do you mean Intel brand motherboard? Not that I know of. I do know that with ASRock board low end Z68 (and possibly H67) allows you to drop multiplier down from stock settings.

I am aware that most third party board using Intel chipset support lowering multiplier in BIOS, but i want the integrated intel/broadcom lan on a itx board, which seems intel branded broad is the only option, let me know if i am wrong winksmiley02.gif
