Guys, tarun I got a good deal a Gigabyte GA78LMT-S2PT mobo already fix the 960t smile.gif its an AM3+ ready mobo and got it from a friend who upgrade his mobo to a M5a97 so just a 2 day old mobo and it came to around 40$ smile.gif

But the mobo only supports 95W cpus so even unlocking or getting the 4170 would be useless hence I am going to exchange this mobo for a 125w.

My Choice of mobo are limited because I need an IDE connector and don't want to transfer any data from the IDE to my SATA drives. plus my DVD is an IDE

^ Did you ask specifically for a rev 3.1? Because rev 4.0 and 5.0 with 3+1 phase and max 95W TDP do exist and they're as limited as the M4A is.

The thing is this board I got is from a friend and it's a brand new mobo as he upgraded his FX to M5a97 pro or evo don't know. I am planning exchanging this board with my vendor for a 125w with IDE and AM3+ support.

This is a 4+2 phase I think I am not sure though but I can pull 4.2 ghz @1.55v and stable except NB is causing a problem.

Ok, now here's the deal , I can unlock the 960T to six cores @stock speed and voltages not changed anything, but coretemp or any other temp monitor does not show me the temps it shows as 0. CPU-Z confirms a 1605T @160W and 6 cores. heck I can run FSX @3.0 Ghz with 6 cores and it runs quite well. This is a 3+1 phase mobo but I may exchange it to something else as I need a mobo supporting 125w as I going ahead with a FX 4170 next month when it is available here.

ironmaiden, unlocked the core temps will not indicate. all amd chips that unlocks do this. you just have to go by the cpu temp (socket temp). just keep that temp under 62C.

are you abandoning the 960T?redface.gif not one that unlocks. the 960T unlocked and oc to 4GHz can keep up with the top bds. that is why it is such a bargain.
