How to: 680 overclocking fundamentals - Page 9

It's actually 1124 MHz Base Core and hits 1228 MHz Boost. With proof. No offense taken.

You can view the benchmark in system specs under OCN Yin Yang Dragon. Benched on my X58 set up. I hit top now P10099 / E3719.

My BF3 core was when I was first playing with over clocking. However I wasn't stable for a long run. That was a short test which didn't fail until I played for a longer time. I saw I had climaxed on a seperate occasion gaming BF3 64 multiplayer hitting 1254 MHz.

I have my power at 1.175 (max) GPU clock steady at 1215, and mem. at 3180.

( 111%, +60, and +180 respectively in evga precision, on a GB windforce)

I got my first artifact in the 'evga fuzzy test' at these settings. How much does that matter? Do I need to lower settings now? or Should I factor in more than one test?

Temps were at 52c with 70% fan speeds.

Edit: Retested with +20 more on mem clock, 5 artifacts in 2 minutes on evga test.

Edit2: Lowered clocks to 1190 / 3121 - No artifacts.

Suggestions? I was hoping this card would go higher, with it staying so cool. Its rare to see it go over 55c, during tests or 1440p gaming.

Side note: one game that does kick the 680s ass, Eve online. Not sure why.

Raise up your power to about 120% with those previous settings and you should be fine.

My power doesn't go any higher. 1.175 volts is max. My power target only goes up to 111% because the Windforce is factory overclocked.

Ok - sorry about that. I thought you benched it with your 3770k. The i7-950 must be the reason for the lower score.

Really? What does the factory overclock have to do with it?

Because the max any gtx 680 goes to now is 1.175 without a hard mod. The "power target" that you see people set at 130% is over a stock card, which is also 1.175v.

Mine hits the 1.175 with 111% because my stock is higher. Same end result.

The sad part is my temps are still fine. If I had more power, I might be able to go higher.

Either way it doesn't really matter. Everything I play at 1440p and ultra still runs fine.
I think most other factory oc'd cards also can do 132%. That's why I asked. I understand they are all limited (so far) to 1.175.

Everyone here seems to max out at 132% TDP, but mine somehow goes up to 176% TDP... I have a Gainward gtx 680.

387

P.S. Those clocks are not maxed, I just moved the slide to a +100/+400 and tested it once for stability for now.

EDIT: Just checked my gpu and it seems I have a 8+6pin version, sweet. biggrin.gif

But does your voltage actually go above 1.175?
