Will the GTX 680 Bottleneck a Phenom x4 965@4GHz? - Page 2

Also, looking at a wall is becomes a GPU bottleneck since then it your cpu is doing less work to feed information(textures, models etc) making then you gpu also render less giving you a super high fps.

If you dont believe me, get a phenom ii cpu, get a powerful gpu, go into a non threaded game like vall of duty WAW, play at a lower resolution, see how you gpu usage are like jumping from 30-70%?

Then go and look into a corner and see your gpu usage be 99%

Phenoms ii will work as hard and be as fast as an intel in a heavily threaded game like bf3 tho

Do you really want me to get a screen shot of all 6 of my core usage on my phenom ii when playing battlefield 3??? All 6 of them are constantly used(~60-80)

I might have an explanation why the graph sgows otherwise.

Singleplayer is different than mulyiplayer

You're confusing your terms, if it were CPU intensive performance would scale with better CPUs, which it does not. It simply does a good job of putting to use whatever you have, meaning it's well threaded.

You post also makes sense. But all these charts are showing single player aspects of the game. Single player is always different from multiplayer.

I see now that I could be wrong but once i get home ill try it out, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 cores on multiplayer once i get home.

You do know that if your get 100+ fps your monitor will any show 60. Unless you have a 120hz monitor you only get 60fps.

At which resolution?

At 1920x1080 processor starts to matter less and less, to the point that at 2560x1440, as long as it's a bit powerful, doesn't matter at all.

I know perfectly wepl that my monitor cant display more than 60fps. But games feels smoother, and getting above ensures that it never drops below 60fps.

Also, have you ever tried playin quake based games at 60fps ??

You posted 3 times and and you avatar gives me a headache. In other news yes the x4 will bottleneck your system in some games.. Starcraft 2, skyrim, etc..... Some games are very cpu bound. I am not saying it wont have playable fps i am just saying you will never see full performance from that 680 on that chip
