My motherboard is old as hell though (gonna be 3 years old this summer) so I have to find DDR2 memory that's compatible.

How exactly do I check my HDD for errors? I know for memory there's memtest.

If it's a WD or ST (Western Digital or Seagate) each company has free tools you can download to check them with, just check their sites for the downloads. Also you can run a quick check on the SMART status by installing HD Tune Pro (trial version) and checking the 'Health' tab.

I had tons of stuttering issues on a Q6600 with a GTX 460 768MiB, 6GiB RAM.

Turning texture quality down to Medium solved almost all of it, upgrading my CPU and RAM made it butter-smooth.

I would go into the Resource Monitor, check if you're having lots of writes to a swap file during the game.

Hey guys, I've fixed the issue. I reinstalled my drivers, and I set my textures to "medium." Right now, I'm playing on High settings (with medium textures) with hardly any stuttering. Eh, I guess that's still worse than what most people game at with a 560 ti (on ultra), but it's good enough for me.
