[Build log] poor old CM 590 gets a cpu loop

Hi OCN members wink.gif I would like to share with you my work on my loop.

so this is a current state of my rig

450
450

Athlon x250 on C3F formula + xfx 5770 powered by corsair tx750.

and this is how my case looks now

450

AsRock x58 extreme + i7 920 D0 + 12 gigs of patriot signature 1.3 GHz (not present on pic) with a pair of xfx 5770 (also not present) powered by same psu.

cpu loop parts
D-tek fuzion v2 with custom 1366 mounting plate
360 old thermochill pa (with 25mm spacing xD)
Laing DDC-1T with Petra's tech top
black water o-tank 170
bitspower NK12 barbs
and some tygon tubing
primochill orange uv coolant
6 enermax tb silece 120 fans

plans? short term:
put up and running cpu loop.
future plans:
find some cheap waterblocks to watercool those xfx 5770s

the main idea of my build is to create something good without huge $$$ costs. most of parts are refub (mobo) or used (one 5770, cpu block, res, pump, rad) also some parts are going to be reused from my current rig. only ram, barbs, coolant and fans are new.

Why changing platform? Well i had enough problems with stability on AM3 i just want to try something else. I've found mobo and cpu for a very very low prices. A true bargain that i could not resist.

The original loop idea was to put Rad on top of my case, but that didn't worked out as i don't have required tools to cut my case, didnt had a place to put res. So i give up. Just to much work, to little time. After a very long break on builing my WC loop ive decided to give it another try. Ive placed my rad in the 5.25 bays and it fits there perfectly. Res will be placed on pair of holders that will be installed at the back of rad with use of 120mm fan mounting holes. No need to cut anything, just to drill few holes and nothing more. Hard drives will find their place somewhere near the psu and i will use external dvd burner instead of internal.

The tubing routing may be intresting for you wink.gif There will be one nice tube exposed to the right edge of motherboard. Since the X58 extreme mobo is well designed it has a 24 pin connector placed in the right edge corner leaving whole edge exposed smile.gif sata and front panel cables will go under the tubing leaving nice tube with uv reactive coolant smile.gif

well, lets see what i will be able to create.

ps i do not plan to sleeve the cables ;p Sry for those horrid pics, I will get something better then camera from my cell phone soon.
And sry for my english, if there are any mistakes pls let me know.

i'm having one trouble here. anyone knows if MCW-60 blocks works on 5770? i know that it should but can anyone confirm? to do that you should remove chrome bracket and use the holes that should hold that bracket to mount a block to pcb of card. can anyone with MCW-60 measure the holes in block copper base? i will be very greatfull for that.

so i guess if you dont have an epic rig and your loop will not gonna be full of bling bling you are nothing?

What's the distance between screw holes (center of one to center of another adjacent to it)?

Looking good so far. As far as the MCW-60 compatibility goes, I suggest emailing swiftech.

Thx for suggestions but i've searched the web and found a simple trick. The distance between holes is exacly 43mm and it is the same distance as it is in MCW60 base and top (holes for the screws that are holding together base and top). I will just screw my card directly to the block without any mounting brackets.
http://hw-lab.com/liquidcooling-ati-hd-4770-and-ati-hd-5770-with-swiftech-mcw60.html - link just in case if anyone would need more info.

And i have a used MCW60s already beeing shipped to me ;D.
