Thread Starter
My xbox (the old 20gb one) rrod on me, no sad-smiley-002.gif please she lasted a good 6 years its was only a matter of time, now to the question in hand should I buy a other one? I don't really play anymore but still log in to play with my friends and I can always get one cheap off eBay. Or should I just give up on consoles and stick to pc gaming thumb.gif

Well, if you still enjoy playing with your friends on xbox, and can get a cheap one I would, however if it doesn't happen often at all, and it is expensive, I wouldn't.

if its an e74 error you can fix it for $20. Quick and easy
post #6 of 22
Yeah I would try to fix it, I have successfully fixed two red ringed xbox's so far. Its pretty easy to do and fun. If you can't fix it you don't really lose much either as its already dead thumb.gif

I use to fix them on the side. Most of the fixes have last over a year. It is a little intimidating at first but it is pretty simple. Look on youtube for some tutorials. There is one that will give you a shopping list of parts to buy at a local hardware store. Also, pick up yourself a T10 and T8 torx bit screw driver. You'll need it. Good luck

Well if you have a large collection of Xbox Games it might be nice to pick up one of the new slim models if its not that expensive.

The new models won't RROD on you, their much more efficient.
