is the gtx 660m just an overclocked gt 650m?

The only different would then be the core speed and shader speed, which for gt 650m is 735-850 while for the gtx 660m is 835.

I don't understand why the gt 650 is clocked at a range of numbers while the gtx 660m isn't?

Well, the GTX 660m isn't a overclocked version of the GT 650m. The GTX 660m has a WAY faster memory speed. Gt 650m= 900mhz GTX 660m= 2000 mhz (2 Ghz)

Plus the GT 650m with the core and shader speed @ 850 mhz only has 334 core's rather then 384.

Also the GT 650m has a DDR3 and GDDR5 version, while the GTX 660m only has GDDR5.
If you want benchmark's they say the GT 650m (1 Gb GDDR5 ver.) is just like the GTX 560m (1.5 Gb GDDR5 ver.)
