Bottom of the case? :hmm:
Why would you want to place it in the bottom, when you could place it in a 5.25" bay?
(Unless you're in need of a CD-ROM..)

I'm kind of reluctant to give up my CD-ROM, though honestly it almost gets used except to install the OS. The downside the the 5.25 bay in this case is there is a sort of vanity plate that is attached the front of whatever device is installed with double sided tape, it does not open with the rest of the door it goes in and out with the drive.

With a reservoir there I'd lose the drive and and still not have convenient access to the reservoir. I am still thinking about putting on there though, as it makes placement easy.

The OS can easily be installed from a USB stick tongue.gif
Don't get my comments wrong though, I'm just trying to help out smile.gif
You have the case infront of you, I don't. I've actually never seen the case in real life either, so you would know way better than me how the things will fit wink.gif

I'm always open to comments, your radiator suggestion got me thinking enough to re-locate the the radiator and fans to a position that I like better than my original idea smile.gif

I think part of what I'm thinking is I like the idea of the computer being a fairly high-performing watercooled system, with out any outwards signs of the cooling, and without any loss of functionality. Even if the lost functionality would be relatively insignificant. I try to picture someone who doesn't know anything about computers at all, they should be able to just sit in front of mine and do everything they normally do without thinking about it.

Ahh, I see.
I definately agree with you on the "with out any outwards signs of the cooling". Must say kinda I hate "outside" radiators, things should be inside of the case, not on the outside! tongue.gif

By the "without any loss of functionality" part, I assume you mean taking out the CD-ROM is not an option?
In that case, you might as well go with a standalone pump & resevoir, as you'd get higher performance. I think.
(XSPC X20 200 pump/res is only rated for 200 lph)

But on the other side, having the X20 pump/res on the bottom of the case would leave more .. free space, I guess?

(I'm sorry if I've misunderstood you, I'm tired as .... and can barely read/write atm)

Removing the CD is just a less than desirable option, I'll inconvenience myself with build components before doing it smile.gif

I need to manage to snag a 680 Hydrocopper to see what sort of room I'll be left with once they are in place, and how I can route tubing around.

Planning some layouts, I decided to include the CPU:

Trying to decide between the Koolance CPU-370

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12571/ex-blc-874/Koolance_CPU-370_Liquid_Cooling_Extreme_CPU_Block_-_No_Fittings_.html?tl=g30c85s139&id=93ZyZJse&mv_pc=2948

Or the HeatKiller Rev 3.0:
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14214/ex-blc-977/Heatkiller_Rev_30_11551156_CPU_Liquid_Cooling_Block_-_Nickel_Black_14014.html?tl=g30c85s139&id=93ZyZJse&mv_pc=2932

Anyone have any opinions or alternative suggestions? My planned color scheme is Black/Red to go along with the Asus colors, though that is not a critical condition.

I decided to abandon the GTX 680 idea, I don't think it is quite what I want. Instead, I'm going with this:

2012-05-02_12-32-20_HDR.jpg

2012-05-02_12-48-41_HDR.jpg

2012-05-02_12-49-57_HDR.jpg

2012-05-02_12-50-29_HDR.jpg

2012-05-02_12-52-26_HDR.jpg

2012-05-02_13-00-44_HDR.jpg

Pretty freaking huge card, shows some PCB flex but that won't be an issue once I get a waterblock/backplate installed:

2012-05-02_12-56-28_HDR.jpg

I'll be getting one of these to go with it:
komodo_hd_7970_02.png

Swiftech Komodo 7970 Full-Cover water cooling block, same people who make the waterblock for the GTX680. http://www.swiftech.com/komodo-hd7970.aspx
