Can someone tell me how I crash at 5 days later browsing but not when runing prime95? - Page 4

Hey XxAlbertoxX, if I built that system (I've built over 100 SB setups) , I would start right off with these settings and work from there.

Cpu 45x100 4.5ghz
Cpu Vcore 1.375v
Cpu PLL 1.700v
VCCIO for 8 gigs 1.100v-1.125v
Dram Voltage at your rams ratted voltage
LLC to 75%
C1e and speedstep disable
C3 and C6 enabled

These settings will boot every time. Not 1 of the 100 chips I've clocked could not do this and was always stable. I walk the Multi up to uaually 47 or 48 before anything needs a bump. Every air cooled system I've built for others has left my place at 4.7-4.8ghz.. Most of those are even with a Hyper 212 and 1 fan. Your cooler should do a lot better. Keep you max core temps in IBT under 80c and your fine. Use IBT for the quick and dirty way to find a stable setting, once that's done, I'd still run a 8hr Prime Blend test too. If you can pass 20 runs in IBT with 8threads and veryhigh ram, your pretty good.

Hell, I just through that 2700k in my system on friday and pulled my 2500k goldie out. I didn't even boot the 2700k at stock. My first boot was 1.450v and 50x100 for 5ghz and it was ROCK SOLID. Dropped down to 1.425v, still good, dropped to 1.400v and got my BSOD 101. Under stress at 1.400v the load voltage was at 1.384v and failed. If I keep load at 1.400v it's good. Booted it up to a 5.5ghz with 1.550v for munaim1 cuz he asked me to do a Max Multi boot. Almost got in windows at 5.6ghz but pc rebooted after the windows logo. 1.575v would of done it biggrin.gif

Good luck, and hope you get your goal. If you'd like help one on one, PM me. It's way easier to help someone whey they only listen to one director teaching.gif I usually help everyone through steam or something like that. WE ALWAYS GET IT THERE. There's some bios pics in my profile of the Extreme4 gen3 P67 board that I have shown 5ghz stable settings for my i5. May help if you look.

Also Try disabling CPU-Spread spectrum. if its enabled try disabling. Also check out the thread on x124 BSOD's on sandy and the fix its a very good thread and has helped alot of people. could be your VCCIO also try 1.10 volt. Chances are if its happening more during non idle its either memory related so run memtest86. Also could be the LLC setting. also download Blue screen viewer to see what BSOD error your getting and post a screenshot of blue screen viewer and what it is tellin ya its a great tool for analyzing a BSOD. MS Debugging tool is also VERY good for seeing what a BSOD is doing but it can involve a bit of knowledge to utilize it properly with the symbols. Also important thing is never let a BSOD slide and brush it off as nothing, A BSOD means a critical error has occurred and must be investigated. When i get a BSOD i thoroughly investigate it like a detective investigating a crime lol. And i rule whether it is a software or a dreaded hardware related error and then remedy the situation. Hardware is when i take it more seriously.

Yeah. I know it's "critical" that's why I'm about to bump my settings back down to stock.

I already tried the settings listed above i.e. C1E enable, C3/C6 auto etc....

..I even tried disabling the turbo boost and C1E and enabling C3/C6 still blue screens...

I get the x00124 blue screen EVERY TIME, 3-5 days later, while doing something trivial like facebook or firefox or microsoft word, or literally walking to go to the bathroom and coming back to a frozen blue screen.

I even bumped down my overclock to 4.3ghz with a moderate amount of vcore. Yet I can pass 12+ hours prime 95, or Very High Intel Burn Test with 50+ passes.

Temps hover around low 60's under 100% load on CPU lol...

..So at this point I have no freaking idea, though, the instability to me is clearly with the damn idling of the CPU since I never crash under load which is new to me.

I have finals right now and have to study for the my PCAT so unless someone could link me to something or provide new info, I'm just bumping down to stock clocks I suppose.
