You know what I want from AMD....a 45 or less watt 3GHz quad (Athlon II x4 performance is just fine). That's pretty much it. Forget trying to beat Intel with the flat out performance and just beat ARM and therefore Intel ahead of time (since ARM probably is going to compete with Intel since the pad fad isn't dying anytime soon). I think power consumption and heat output reductions should be the things to fix while maintaining current performance.

Do you guys not realize that BD was a first gen. Did you guys see the performance of Phenom when it first came out. It was even worse compared other chips then. But then Phenom II came out and it turned out to be a great chip.

You guys obviously do not understand how things work nor pay attention to what has happened in the past. You are supposed to learn from previous experiences, not forget about it then experience it all over again when it happens.

Pay attention to whats going on around you then you wouldnt spend the money on an AM3+ board or hope that BD is going to be great at release. This only makes you look like a little kid.

Now that I have said that, I upgraded from a 965 BE to a 8120 and it was a major upgrade. You guys can go by what everone else says if you want but all those people have no experience with BD at all. The people who do, will tell you that BD is actually a pretty damn good chip for being a first revision and a whole new architecture that AMD has never tried.

You guys posts these posts but they only make you look not smart. Stop making yourself not look smart - its not smart.

Yeah I hear ya there, the APU's are amazing for laptops, but a lot more people need a powerhouse PC than a laptop with insane graphics.

If PD doesn't live up to my standards, I'm going back to Intel.

You can't really defend AMD on any parts. They knew the CPUs were going to be not as good and they released them anyway. This argument has been started many times before.

OT: I do consider sometimes buying an AMD CPU/GPU but at current price points and the price/performance ratio.... I'm sorry but Intel wins at this one. Its difficult to talk down to a SB i5 or i7.

This is absolutely wrong. You say that the demand for powerhouse desktops is much higher than laptops. This is just rediculous. Laptops make up a whole lot more of the market than desktops.

Powerhouse PC's make up less than 1% of the PC market. Probably more like 0.1%. I dont know where you're getting your stats but powerhouse desktops just arent used anymore by the average person.

A lot more people need/want laptops than they want a powerhouse desktop. Your statement is just rediculous and farfetched.

The majority of the people in the world own laptops/tablets/mobile and only a small fraction own enthusiast desktop pcs.

If you really dont believe this then you really need to get out from behind your monitor and look around at the world. Its pretty self explanitory.

As for Bulldozer, I never said it was an amazing CPU but it is far from a fail. Its not supposed to be an amazing CPU like you guys thought it was going to be before it came out. Yeah sure it didnt blow everyones mind like they were expecting and thats the exact reason people think its garbage, bc it didnt fullfil their expectations.

AMD built Bulldozer architecture for their APUs. It was never designed for just a CPU chip. On top of that, its a first generation chip from a brand new architecture that AMD had no experience with at all and had really no idea what kind of performance it would have when they designed it. Again, its made to be paired with a iGPU for their APU chips. If you look at the Bulldozer architecture and AMDs HSA, App acceleration and fusion concepts you will understand why they designed the Bulldozer architecture.

Also, a lot of people thought that Bulldozer was supposed to come out and be some kind of powerhouse CPU when it simply was not supposed to be. If you thought Bulldozer was supposed to come out and destroy the competitions high end chips then you only lied to yourself because, again, Bulldozer simply wasnt supposed to be that chip.

If you look at Bulldozer the way that its supposed to be looked at and why AMD designed in the first place then you will clearly see that Bulldozer was not supposed to be a powerhouse CPU and that it designed for something else entirely. AMD designed the architecture to run very efficiently on their APU once they have completely implemented their HSA concept. Bulldozer was never supposed to be the chip all you guys thought it was supposed to be. So basically, yes, you dont know what you are talking about.

Maybe if you did research and actually understand what AMD's plans are for the future then maybe you will understand what bulldozer is for. Im not going to sit here and argue any more about this cause you will either take the time to look into it yourself or you wont. Either way, right now, you dont know what you are talking about.

Again are you incapable of not talking down to people? What are you 12?

Re read time: More people need a powerhouse desktop than a laptop with INSANE GRAPHICS. who the hell really needs a 580/6970 SLI/CFX laptop. No one. And I never believed BD would be fast. Google Bulldozer, the construction equipment, slow powerful power hungry. Bingo right on target with what AMD released.

Oh and by the way, it is a fail simply because the previous gen is better, don't even try to argue this one you will lose.

What makes you think I want to talk down to people. And again, it is not supposed to compete with CPUs. It is not a CPU architecture. And the reason it fails against previous gen chips, is because its a first gen architecture. Just like a lot of first gen architectures dont really perform better than previous gen.

Its obvious that you didnt read anything i said because if you did then you would realize your post makes no sense. Quite trying to act so tuff man. I could care less what you believe. Dont google Bulldozer, go look at AMD plans with bulldozer. Like I said, if you do the research then maybe you'll understand the reason for bulldozer but maybe your just incapable of doing research and just going by what other people, who have no idea, say.

Again, Bulldozer is not designed for CPU chips which makes it not comparable to other CPU chips. Read before you speak or maybe your just incapable of doing that too. Again, I could care less what you believe but I am telling you if you want to know what Bulldozer is supposed to be then research why AMD designed the damn thing, instead of just thinking that its to replace their previous gen cpus. If you havent already been told, AMD is getting out of the CPUs and going straight into APUs full force.

Its obvious that you are incapable of doing research for yourself and finding out what things are really meant for rather than what you think there meant for.

I know the primary design is for APUs you conceited git, but if it wasn't a technology with intent for CPUs they wouldnt have MADE cpus using it. And if you actually believe AMD will abandon DT cpus entirely, you're crazy. We all know they're slowing down, but if they leave it intel will have a monopoly which is not allowed. That's why Microsoft had to bail apple out a looooong time ago. Oh and it's spelled tough, again, you sound 12. Are you 12? No hate just curious. And clearly you do talk down to people as every thread you're ever in you always claim Someone has no idea what they're talking about. Meanwhile if this were a gpu discussion or a cooling discussion, I'd be wiping the floor with you right now.
