New here and to overclocking

post #1 of 8
Thread Starter
Greetings,

I finally decided to join the forums after months of peeking in here for advice. Now I am finally joining because I am doing my first real overclocking. No mobo software OCing, Actual enter the BIOS OCing.

If someone could kindly direct me to the proper forum for overclocking, it would be appreciative. can't seem to find the right place in the drop down menu,

Welcome to OCN!

Also, it could help to know what CPU. There are proper guides here for all the popular chips, and brands. AMD and Intel forums respectively.

If you want it in your signature like the rest, go to your profile and scroll down to signature and there's a button for adding rigs/classifieds to your signature.

As to guides, here is a rather lengthy and informative one;
http://www.overclock.net/t/1189242/sandy-bridge-e-overclocking-guide-walk-through-explanations-and-support-for-all-x79-overclockers/0_20

And a little more relavant to go with your motherboard, here is a post with a bunch of Asus videos showing how to;

Welcome to OCN. I would start by searching on your motherboard, then processor. You can find alot of good stuff just like that.

Then do either the watercooling or air cooling forum, or even processor brand specific forum.
