Pelter to power supply..

I am thinking of getting a 170 watt peltier or 400 watt... i have a 1000 watt power supply, is there a way to attach a 170 watt peltier to the current power supply? using maybe a 12v pci wire or one of the empty spots for modular power supply or do i have to get a new power supply? if i do get a new power supply then i would rather go with the 400 watt how do i connect the peltier to that??

You can hook it up ,but before you attempt anything read the posts carefully and don`t jump into it. It is a lot more complicated than just bolting it to your cpu. Lot of parameters.-current draw-cooling hot side of TEC-condensation-efficiency-what you want to cool-block choice-ambient temperature-matching pump flow to block-overclocking temps-many more items, slow down, study and you will have fewer regrets. ps TEC units are most efficient at 40-60 % of rated voltage, so you should use a 24-28 volt 400 watt TEC and that will do your CPU and not much more.
