Thankyou Dwood!

The material that it's made out of wouldn't "re-cure", but it could heat up enough that it would spread out a bit and start to fill the voids left by the re-installation process.

Always clean and re-apply thermal interface material when removing and re-installing a heat sink.

Hey, I was just curious how an H60 would affect a Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce model? What kind of temp difference would I be looking at? I mean I run 44 degrees idle, 55 on load?

Based on the results of other Mods, I'd say that noise would go down noticeably, and and temps maybe under 40 and 50 respectively.

I'll be ordering a bracket from you Dwood, will have to see if I have any money left for some other goodies thumb.gif

I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Firstly a Windforce, from memory, uses three fans that are around 80mm in size. At low speeds fans like that are quite acceptable however, when you crank on them they start to become irritating.

There's a reason we did away with 80mm case fans in favour of 92mm, and then 120mm, and it was because they make a horrid racket.

However, I do doff my cap to Gigabyte as the cooling on those cards is absolutely fantastic for an air cooler. So, whilst I can't see you shaving 20c from your temps I can see you only operating a single 120mm fan for the same, if not a few C better, cooling arrangement.

Mounted H50 on my HD 6850. The H50 is a bit broken and it's not cooling as good as it should, but my temps now are 33 idle and around 50 tops (furmark), after hours of Just Cause 2 maxed it was sitting at about 46 degrees. Ambient is around 24 degrees.
I added radiators for the memory, and I'm a bit worried about VRM and mem temps, which are around 80 degrees both - measured on the radiators, so the chips must be even hotter.

you mean you added heatsyncs? because radiators have water in them. You just need to get a light fan to blow across them...
