It's an MSI 670 (reference board 670), just like RR707 has in the post above my original post. The VRMs are at the back of the card rather than the front, hence my concern.

There are VRAM modules on the front which you will not see until you remove the fan bracket

back of the card

front of the card

In the future I plan to add heat sinks on the ram modules.
Enzotech BCC9 VGA Cooler

As for the VRM, I am pretty skeptical how much the cooling benefit's from having the hot air from cooling the processor blow over it's heat sink. I have a 140mm case fan mounted in the side of the case blowing in directly over the card. Not the best solution and still looking at a better way of mounting a fan.

With all that said it is much better than the high temps/loud fan with the stock option.

Thanks for the further pics RR707. I don't particularly think the VRAM cooling is worth worrying about, just the VRM cooling. Have you tried the "does it burn my finger" test on the VRM sink while under load at all?

im also facing this obstacle myself but i think i've come up with a solution. dwood is working on a new design specifically for the 670 that basically has a fan bracket fold up from the pump bracket and hang a 92mm fan in inch or so above the pump. the only problem with this is that the fan will be mostly blowing on the pump itself, but since its 92mm and the card is so small to begin with it will provide air flow to the entire card.

i personally think that a decent amount of air movement around the VRM and the VRAM will be PLENTY to cool it. honestly i think the VRM would be fine without any air flow over it...since as mentioned before, the VRM only gets the hot air from the gpu blown over it.

Hrm, that'd work, but it'd take up a lot of slots - guessing at least 3 and possibly 4 frown.gif. That's a bit too much, at least for me. I've asked dwood for pricing for sending a basic bracket to the UK, so we'll see how I get on with that smile.gif.

No problem. I'll try the touch test while it's under full load later and post the results.

im not running SLI so that doesn't matter much to me. if i end up going SLI ill probably end up using 2 normal brackets and just zip tie fans to my hard drive bays blowing on both cards.

@dwood: lookin good man. hope your workin on the 670 fan hanger bracket we talked about thumb.gif

im ordering my 620 today so i cant wait for the bracket....well i guess i could but i dont want to biggrin.gif

ohhh yeahh nice. the fan sits ontop of the bracket id imagine? also which side do the legs face? and lastly which side do you recommend i run my pump tubes? i plan on using the rear exhaust fan placement for the kuhler. i think this will work pretty well though. since i plan on using heat sinks on all my modules all they need is a bit of movement around them to take away the heat.

and when can i place my order?

edit: btw is the fan placement directly in the middle of the pump? it looks like the fan is hanging off to one side more than the other. id imagine directly in the middle would be the best placement since the mosfets are on the left side and the vram is on the right. but then again im not the artisan and dont have any experience with this sort of thing.

Interesting Bracket. Any chance you might make a variant of it with a hanging fan AND a fan bracket for the VRMs?

On a side note, can you give me a heads up on the progress and or shipping? Thanks a lot!
Really excited to get my bracket and slap it on my card.
