ALL TIM currently on the market function within maybe 2C-3C of each other if used properly and applied properly.
Any other info is coming from zealots who just believe their own product is better for some reason.
Wadec....remount AGAIN (yes....again....) and post some pics of your TIM spread this time, and how you are mounting.
If you are not experienced at mounting a GPU cooler to the core it can take several times to get it.
As for my own postings here on this forum, looks like I will be contacting Dwood to get some 680 brackets. Very loose confirmation from EVGA forums that the nonreference PCB for the 680 FTW has the same mounting hole arrangement as the reference PCBs.
Guess we will see when it arrives

Hey I could post websites that prove or disprove nearly ANY topic we can think of, but that doesnt make it accurate. This is the internet. There are TONS of people posting all kinds of nonsense out there.
That being said, the article you posted is 3 years old. In the world of computers, thats about 2 or 3 lifetimes
But hey if you like that super expensive TIM more power to you. Id nearly guarantee I can achieve the same temps as you with ANY TIM provided we are using the same hardware, and our ambient temps are the same.
Or at least within 3C!

my friend swears by his AS5 but i actually have better temps than him with the same hardware (2600k + h80). i think any decent TIM will do just fine and temps are more dependent on the mount, ambient temps, and fans.

TIM is well.. TIM... however Indigo Xtreme/Epic T1000 is not designed for ALL heatsinks. I literally tried for 2 days (3 different IX packages) to get proper reflow on a Thermalright HR-02 Macho. IX doesn't seem to like high pressure heatsinks that only use 2 screws. (I could get it to reflow, but literally the screws had to be completely loose... which isn't cool when one of those is in the flipping middle of the Macho.
I use MX-2 and it does marginally better than AS5.
BTW, Asentek / Corsair use a commerical version of Shin Etsu for their coolers.
