It's generally advised to remove the stock TIM on the GPU when you remove the cooler. The stock paste on the Kuhler is pretty good.

Then the Noctua paste will do just fine. It's pretty solid.

Hi everyone. Have been using this for a month or two and it has been great. But recently temps have peaked at around 80, which is almost as bad as the stock cooler. Airflow is as good as I can get (push/pull) with the kuhler 620 in my fractal define mini. Would anyone have any suggestions? I am thinking about reseating it and applying new thermal paste on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It really doesn't make that big of a difference. I saw maybe a 1C increase between the two. The upside to the 920 is that it takes longer to reach max temp because it has more liquid in it. At least that's what mine did.

I would definitely start there. It is possible that the block/pump wasn't as snug all the way around as it could have been and has shifted some.

Also check to see that the fins of the rad are clean. Another possibility is that the 620's pump is not working properly and your flow is not as good as it once was.

The software from 920 is excellent, that's why I decide to go with the 920, but it's bulky as you can see in my pictures, so there are goods and bads.

I did some changes now it's a 42-43c full load, fans at 1100-1200rpm for quietness, liquid temp at 39c.

Ran full load all day today, games, benches, etc, haven't seen any higher temp from CPUID hardware monitor or antec software liquid temp.
