i5 2500K Overclock running hot? - Page 4

Your voltage is bit too high. try setting it to 1.30 or 1.28. Also put it down to 4.5Ghz. Extra 0.1 Ghz isn't worth extra volts.

That's what I was thinking. I use Load-Level 3 on my board, with an offset of -0.5v. My voltage settles at 1.36v at full load.

That is why I asked for clarification from the OP.

If it is 1.41V under load that is awful high for a 4.6 GHz overlock IMO, so maybe he should back off if that is the case.

Yeah, there might be other factors causing the instability. He did say that he cannot adjust the PLL voltage, so it is probably set to Auto. Auto settings are never good, lol.biggrin.gif

Different board, but my voltages are set to:

Offset: -0.5v
DRAM: 1.5v
PCH: 1.059v
VTT: 1.064v
PLL: 1.709v
VCCSA: 0.925v
Load-Line: 3
CPU Ratio: 48
PCI Freq: 100MHz
RAM is running the XMP Profile with timings: 9-9-9-24 1T Dual Channel.

We will just have to wait for him to clarify things. But at 1.4v, this cooler really can't do it's job. Just becomes heat saturated.

even though it is not clear, you can't just ignore the higher voltage that he posted and just choose the lower one.
he posted that number, it means he's hitting that voltage.
