My motherboard does give me a voltage PLL option for some reason, I can't take it off auto

Its my opinion your cooler is fine, and you either did your overclock wrong, applied your thermal paste wrong or set your offset wrong.

great step by step guides

munaim:

clean your cpu and cooler with isopropyl alcohol and coffee filters.
This is how to apply thermal paste for YOUR cooler.

After you get a stable overclock set the offset this way.

Munaim:
Offset

Once you have 'found' your desired overclock, assuming you have followed the guide above, you should be using manual voltage and the correct level of LLC to determine and eliminate the vdroop as much as possible, then all you do is the following:

Once you know what vcore you require under load, using cpu-z you can work out the offset by using the VID. When running your cpu under load to read vcore, you can do the same to read the VID. That can be achieved by running prime with cpu-z and realtemp. The difference between the load voltage in cpu-z and the VID you see in realtemp is the offset amount you're looking for.

For example if your VID is 1.3875 under load and your cpu-z vcore under load is 1.4275, the offset will be a positive amount from the VID, so it'll be +0.040 (1.3875 + 0.040 = 1.4275)

If the VID is 1.3875 and your cpu-z vcore is lower, say 1.3675, the offset will be a negative value of from the VID, which is -0.020 (1.3875 - 0.020 = 1.3675)

As soon as the new tube of Thermal Paste that I ordered comes in, I'm gonna rip it apart clean the CPU and the cooler and go from there and redo all my overclock settings and see what happens.
I'll report back!
Thanks guys!

Update!

I ordered Arctic Cooling MX-4 Thermal Paste and it FINALLY came in today.

I took off the heat sink, cleaned the CPU and the heatsink as you guys and the guides said to. Filled in the little slots on the Heatsink with the Thermal Paste, then applied it as the guide posted by corpsevomit said to.

I changed up my overclock settings and they are as follows:

Clock Ratio: 45X

Ratio Change in OS = Disabled
Turbo Power Limit = 200
CPU Enhanced Hault = Enabled
C3/C6 = Disabled
Everything else = Auto

Voltage settings =
Multi-Steps Load Line = Level 5
CPU Vcore = 1.240V

My CPU Temps are now nice and cool.

Under the Intel Burn Test the Vcore Temps never got above 71 Celsius.
Actual CPU Temp never got over 60Celsius. so its a huge improvement from before.

I also did a quick test from my original settings and the temps never got over 77Celsius, so another reseat of the heatsink helped a whole lot. So the cooler can handle up to 1.4volts and keep them temp down pretty well.

The settings I'm using now have been stable since 11 this morning, its 2PM now. Doing pretty good, it passed the Intel Burn test under the Maximum Stress level, ran 10 times without getting the bluescreen

Ran Prime95 a little over an hour with no issues either.

All seems to be well and it seems that I have achieved my 4.5gHz overclock while keeping my temps in normal operating range smile.gif

I will report back later when I get a chance to run Prime95 for 12+ hours.

Thanks guys!!!
My Core Voltage never goes over 1.332V now.
