Gigabyte has a new Beta BIOS on their website for 990 chipset AM3+ mobos

Just an FYI that Gigabyte has a new Beta BIOS online dated 3-23-12, for the 990 chipset AM3+ series mobos. It states "better CPU compatibility" - whatever that means...

It is a Beta BIOS so use at your own risk if you are having issues that might be resolved with this BIOS.

I wish it would say better CPU performance, compatability is only for the recent new 6200, 4170...mad.gif

The BIOS summary doesn't always state the little tweaks the mobo company has performed. There's only so much that can be done with the current CPU design... BIOS don't usually make a significant change in CPU performance unless the BIOS had an issue to begin with. If AMD makes a stepping on the FX series it may help but I expect Piledriver will be the first significant performance bump over the current FX CPUs @ ~15% perhaps???
