Saphire 4870 512mb + Arctic Twin Turbo Pro

Thread Starter
Hey,

I've ordered recently an Arctic Twin Turbo Pro since the default cooler was making loud noise and stopped working properly. I've installed everything on the card, but can't seem to control fan speed ?

On ccc it says 0% fan speed, when i change it, the temps don't seem to go lower. I've tried this even with furmark running to be sure.

I've connected the 4pin on the card by the way.

So if anyone could help me, would be cool.

thanks in advance.

What do you mean the stock heatsink stopped working properly?

Could you manually control the fan speed on the 4870 before installing the new heatsink? Looking at reviews/pictures of that card if you are using the 4-pin plug and you could control your stock fan you should be able to control the arctic as well. Also its worth trying to control/monitor the fan speed with a different program like MSI afterburner or sapphire trixx instead of CCC.

This may sound silly but make sure the fans are actually spinning. Have you opened the computer to see if its working or can you hear it spinning? Its possible that the fans, the plug, or something else on the heatsink is faulty. If it is not spinning try plugging the arctic into a fan header on your motherboard. If it spins on your motherboard and not your card then I would just run it off the motherboard or a fan controller. If it does not even spin off the motherbaord its time to send it back.

You also have the option of connecting the 4 pin to one of your motherboard headers and controlling fan speed through the motherboard
