It seems like the gpu is mounted in a special bracket in the x51 case and the pci lane on the motherboard is facing normally, so that wouldn't be a problem when switching.

What model graphics card are you looking to replace the one in the X51 with?
this.

Thread Starter
It was a gift from the wife almost two months ago. Not to mention, I've already upgraded the ram and processor. So no returning it. I guess I'll just take you guys advice and keep it in this set up. With a joke of a PSU is there really any way to update the GPU in the future?
i guess you could get hold of a more powerful external power brick.

Well, you could always have a powerful PSU externally, if you don't mind having a bunch of wires running into the case tongue.gif

Sorry to necro a thread, but you can run an Nvidia 670 or a HD 7950 in one of these with the 330w PSU.
ya the 660 ti can run Crysis on ultra easy dx11.1 at 1080p the x51 now comes with the Nvidia gtx660 OEM1.5gddr5 2 times the performance of the gtx555. you can fit a gtx670 with no modifications and this card will easily run all games on max settings at 1080p and will run Crysis 3 at the same max settings. S the gtx670 is the best card with no mods to the psu or case and if anything it runs cooler then a gtx545 or 555. You need to understand the 670 is the last card for Kepler but the next gen 2013 cards will fit in the x51, power isn't an issue anymore, we don't need huge psu's as the x51 has very efficient hardware and we wont be seeing HUGE INCREASE OF WATTAGE OF THE NEXT GEN GPU's THAT WILL REPLACE A 670. You can fit a 680ti i think its called or just a 680, but anyways you can get it in but you will need a new psu to replace your bring, just buy a nice small high watt PC psu and cut the cables that aren't needed and solder them and tad ah you can even get a 690 in with case modification if you are capable of case mods.

Use an old dell case biggrin.gif
Here is mine with a micro atx board intalled.

I had a blast modding this case, it was a challenge getting the cables all hidden neatly.
