Camcorder for IPL 4 LAN

Thread Starter
I wanted to purchase a camcorder for the event just to get some decent footage. I dont want to spend too much so my budget is around 150ish
I was looking around on amazon and found some really nice ones I just dont know much about this so I thought Id consult with the video professionals here at OCN.

Vivitar = no bueno. That Toshiba looks nice. I'd be getting it if I was in your shoes.

Sorry though - I have no other recommendations. frown.gif

why do you say vivitar no bueno. yea it doesnt compare in quality to expensive gear but its not complete garbage for the price.

i personally would not buy new camcorders unless you just have to have to newest available.

here is a used panasonic that retails for $200+ on amazon used on BH for $155 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/800847739-USE/Panasonic_HDC_SD40K_HDC_SD40_High_Definition_Camcorder.html

panasonic > toshiba

Vivitar is usually really cheap stuff, made with really cheap components, with really cheap looking build quality and cheap screen features (ugly menus, hard to navigate, etc). Just my opinion though, someone may really like their stuff. I personally think its really crappy stuff.
